First step

..start your experiment with .

Definitely, the first step is to explore the environment. As mentioned earlier, the environment consists of content (Knowledgebase, Special zones), users, workspaces (My account, My workspace), tools (authoring, plotting, annotation, file management) and interaction artefacts (private messaging, group, public and group forums, commenting, invitation). For teacher-student interaction, we have also provided a virtual campus.

You might find the description of facilities and a few workflows useful. To start with, try to -

  • create sample content with graphics or multimedia objects* embedded within it with the help of the available HTML editor,
  • plot functions and insert them within some created HTML page,
  • learn to write mathematical expressions directly in an HTML page,
  • compose annotated notes from already available web-resources, and download it for offline consumption,
  • explore and organize your workspace with the help of the file manager.

[The Special zone currently has two segments - one on Statistics and another for CBSE (India).

If you are a CBSE teacher or a student, you may find a few NCERT text books (put within 0sNotes page-by-page) useful. You can make your notes for any available page.

If you are a professional who uses Statistics in work, you may find the contributions from experts in the Statistics segment extremely helpful.]

Important:

  • Most of the facilities should work fine for an anonymous (not logged in) user. Some features will work only if you are an authenticated (a logged-in) user.
  • First time some of the pages from this site might take longer than usual to load. That might happen with pages having a lot of Javascript code in it (e.g., pages with What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get HTML editor). Subsequent loads should be fine because of caching.
  • You need to enable Javascript, cookie and popup from 0space.org in your web-browser.
  • The site should work well with Firefox 3 and Internet Explorer 6 (or newer versions). Though it has not been tested for other browsers, it should work without problems.

* This site does not have any facility for creating/editing graphics or other multimedia objects.
